Graphite Corrugated Tape
This tape is slit from graphite roll stock on a high-precision lathe into strips, then embossed into a corrugated shape by a dedicated patterned roller. Used as packing in the stuffing box, it is wound directly onto the pump or valve shaft and compressed by the gland to size — very convenient for small-diameter valves and emergency repairs, greatly saving plant inventory. Often used for vessels, flanges, especially uneven surfaces and high-temperature, high-pressure occasions such as heat exchangers, boilers, pipes, furnace doors and box covers.
